Keris 7 A Javanese keris of nine luk (waves) and bearing pamor wos wutah,
classification (tangguh) is Segaluh. This is an old keris that I estimate to date from
before 1800, it is in excellent condition. It would be difficult to find a better example of
a Segaluh keris than this one.
The wrongko is from kayu gembol jati (burl teak) and is attributed to Tegal, it is
fitted with a copper pendok, deeply embossed to both front and back.
The hilt is a superbly sculpted Pulangan, it is from bone and is fitted with an old silver
I bought this keris in the 1970's from a gentleman who was living in Holland, it was part
of a bulk purchase and it required extensive restoration, only the blade and mendak
were able to be saved from the original ensemble.
Blade length 14.1" (357mm) overall length 19.25" (487mm) $595
