Item 111   A Balinese golok. This golok has a wulung blade of well forged and
tempered steel, it is stained black. It has a hardwood, planar hilt with pommel
that prevents loss of the blade during work, and a white metal ferrule. The
scabbard has a floral retaining protrusion on one face, and white metal bands.

This golok was bought at auction in about 1960. It was collected in Melayu, West
Bali, in the 1920's. It is a very well made golok, intended for daily use. It shows signs
of use, there is bruising to the spine of the blade, and to the pommel, but it is in
overall very good, tight,condition.
