A Javanese patrem hilt, it is carved in the Wadon, or "Woman" form,
as is fitting for use on a patrem, the small keris carried by women.
Most collectors know this hilt form as "Balu Mekabun" and consider
it to be a representation of Durga, but this interpretation seems to be
unknown by m'ranggis in Central Java. The artist has sculpted this
Wadon hilt in a rather non-typical form. This hilt has good, original
patina and is estimated to date from before 1900. With stand.
