This is a South Sumatera hilt that is known to many collectors   as
"Putri Malu", to many other collectors it is known as Balu
Mekabun, and to a few collectors in various places it is a
representation of the "Veiled Durga". I do not know the correct local
name for this hilt form.

This one is neatly and confidently sculpted from what appears to be
red kayu sawo, it bears evidence of use and with good patination,
but no damage, and is fitted with a brass ferrule. Estimate of age is
20th century. With stand.

Height   4"  (102mm)
