A variant of the Putra Satu hilt style from East Java, rather than
Putra Satu, this style can be designated as Putra Malu, named
thus because the face is hidden, "malu" meaning "shy, bashful,
embarrassed". In this hilt the face is completely hidden, and
along with it, the fangs which have been replaced by a pair of
floral scrolls. The execution is meticuluous and imaginative,
clearly the product of a highly skilled artist. Estimate of age is
20th century. With stand.
