A Balinese hilt in the form of Bhuta Nawasari. Bhuta Nawasari is perhaps
the most frequently met with of the guardian statues that stand outside
temples and other buildings, both public and private, he represents the
Dewas and is probably the single most powerful protective force in
Balinese belief.

This hilt is of finely embossed brass, it has a number of bruises and
clearly shows its age. I acquired this hilt in Australia during the 1950's, it
was purchased on a very old rust encrusted Balinese keris that was not
able to be saved. Estimated age is 19th century. With stand.
